How can academic institutions drive innovation and efficiency in the agricultural sector?
This was a question for which a panel of experts sought to provide an answer to at the third day of the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, Serbia. Among the panelists were dr Mladen Radisic, CEO of Foodscale Hub Serbia and professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad and dean elect of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Novi Sad (Poljoprivredni fakultet Univerzitet u Novom Sadu) Nenad Magazin.
Prof. Radišić highlighted the role organisations such as ours play in bringing researchers and students closer to the benefits of digital farming.
The TALLHEDA project was mentioned as a prime example, as its consortium - consisting of Foodscale Hub, Terra Consulting and the Faculty of Agriculture - aims to build a new long-term Alliance for Digital Agriculture between agricultural Higher Education Institutes with leading non-widening agricultural universities, and local and international stakeholders. By taking part in such a project, we are able to transfer our knowledge and experience in business modelling and acceleration.
Other panelists included other professors of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. dr Vladimir Ciric, PhD and Prof. dr Aleksandar Sedlar, while the panel was moderated by Prof. dr Mladen Petreš from the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry.
